Executive Officer, Legal Affairs and Human Rights in the EU

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amnesty International’s European Institutions Office (EIO) is looking for an Executive Officer in charge of Legal Affairs and human rights in the EU to join our team. The post- holder will monitor developments and advise on EU law and EU internal policies related to human rights in the EU, justice and home affairs. She/he will promote Amnesty International’s research and projects in this field and assess opportunities for lobbying at EU level. The post-holder will define and conduct advocacy work, in line with the organisation’s strategic plans and in close coordination with the EIO team, the International Secretariat and the national offices of Amnesty International. This role is on a fixed term contract basis of 6 months, (November 2017 to April 2018.)

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a specialist in human rights law and EU law and policy relating to justice and home affairs who will be capable of translating EU contexts into advocacy for Amnesty International’s global movement, and who can interact with key decision-makers on behalf of the organisation. The successful candidate will be a strong analytical and strategic thinker, with a keen sense of team spirit.
