Consultant – Communications – Healthcare food and beverage practice

Burson Cohn & Wolfe (formerly Burson-Marsteller) is one of the world’s leading communications consultancies. Our Brussels team specialises in European public affairs and integrated campaigning. We are looking for an entry level consultant, who has a passion for digital communications and healthcare, food and beverage issues (HFB).

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice to a wide range of clients including multinational blue-chip companies, international organisations and EU institutions.
  • Plan and implement end-to-end communications campaigns on EU issues in Brussels across EU member states and globally, including:
    • Conduct research on audiences and issues to inform clients’ strategies and messaging
    • Develop integrated communication strategies, across digital and traditional media
    • Collaborate with suppliers to design and produce content, including graphics, websites, videos, mobile apps, print materials and advertising
    • Manage clients’ digital channels, including social media, website, email
    • Evaluate and optimise performance across channels and activities to drive maximum effectiveness through the life of a campaign
  • Play an important role in leading and/or supporting new business opportunities

Competencies & Skills

  • Two to three years relevant experience in EU public affairs in Brussels, preferably in a consultancy working on B2B communications. Experience with the EU institutions and/or trade association would be an asset
  • Knowledge and keen interest in EU policy on HFB issues
  • Strong communications skills, particularly high-level writing skills and knowledge of digital communications strategy
  • Experience in people and client management
  • A Master’s Degree in a relevant field, such as communications, marketing or HFB issues (eg, public health, pharmacy, nutrition etc)
  • Excellent social skills and team spirit, with a hands-on and solutions-driven work mentality
  • Strong communication skills and political insight
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Critical thinking with a desire to learn in a fast-paced and international environment
  • Excellent spoken and written English – German speaking would be an asset (other languages are a plus)
