Eurogroup for Animals seeks Political Assistant
Eurogroup for Animals is the Brussels based European umbrella advocacy organisation, federating 58 national and international members across Europe and beyond. Together we provide a voice for the billions of animals kept in laboratories, farms and homes or living in the wild. Our vision is to build a Europe that truly cares for animals.
The purpose of Eurogroup for Animals is to drive positive change for animals by convening its members around common goals, and coordinating EU wide action to jointly influence EU laws and policies.
With growing emphasis on delivering and demonstrating concrete results for animals despite limited budgets in a stagnating European legislative landscape, Eurogroup for Animals‘ advocacy portfolio consists of dedicated programmes and a growing portfolio of projects and campaigns. This happens against the background of general advocacy work with the European Parliament, European Commission and European Council to create a favourable political environment for animal welfare.
Our political assistant will support the Political Advisors’ team in the execution of Eurogroup for Animals’ advocacy strategy towards the EU Institutions by conducting policy research and political analysis, monitoring relevant committees and processes in the EU institutions, taking minutes in meetings and sharing the outcomes, building a network and maintaining our database of relevant contacts.
We are looking for a hands-on public affairs professional with excellent organising and writing skills who is keen to engage in animal welfare. Working hand in hand with our Senior Political Adviser and Political Adviser, the political assistant proactively identifies and addresses support needs in a highly organised, quick and flexible manner.
In your application, you must show that you have the following skills
- Educational background in EU political studies or similar;
- Knowledge of and experience with EU public affairs;

- Excellent representational, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Highly organised, good eye for detail;

- Commitment towards Eurogroup for Animals’ goals, mission and role.
The deadline for applications for this role is 26 November at midnight CET.
