In order to expand the company’s business activities, we’re looking for a Public Affairs Manager/Director to join our EU Affairs Team in Brussels on a full-time basis.

You will apply your experience in business development and ideally public affairs in order to satisfy existing clients, and to develop strong business proposals with new clients.

You will offer EURACTIV services, negotiate and close deals to reach sales targets in Brussels and in other relevant European capitals, mainly Paris and Berlin.

  • Identify prospective new clients and determine their key policy issues and opportunities
  • Generate leads through networking and keeping up with market developments
  • Propose relevant campaigns and communications actions and close sales opportunities
  • Set up and run sales meetings (independently after an initial orientation period)
  • Be the direct contact for corporate clients, ensuring permanent client satisfaction
  • Coordinate with the EURACTIV network (notably directors in top 6 EU capitals)



  • A minimum of 7 years business development experience with large corporations, advertising, PR or public affairs consultancies – track record of winning business
  • Sales driven and motivated by targets and own results
  • Able to listen to and engage with high level corporate executives while managing their expectations in terms of editorial independence and services delivered
  • Diplomatic approach, yet strong sales drive and not shy to talk numbers and aim for decisions
  • Very good communicator, enjoying corporate networking events
  • Strong understanding of EU policy making process and stakeholders
  • Strong interest or experience in media
  • Excellent English plus French and/or German
  • Very good English writing skills and presentation skills are essential
  • Brussels based
  • Interested in working as an independent contractor with incentives on results
