EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The Public Policy Assistant, based in Brussels, Belgium, is expected to fulfil the following tasks:

  • Preparing Desktop-Research, Memos and Briefings on EU and global policy developments – focus on the digital economy
  • Monitoring and analysing current EU public policy topics for selected, regulated industries in close collaboration with SAP business units
  • Assist the Head Global Public Policy: Organising meetings and travel arrangements
  • Organisation of policy events and workshops in Brussels
  • Assist with preparation of meetings, workshops, keynotes, etc.
  • Carrying out daily ad-hoc requests

Additional tasks: Support of the Public Policy Team

  • Collaborate with the leadership team, projects teams and internal stakeholders to follow-up on tasks and action items
  • Operational team support (EU Team budget management, support forecasting and reporting)
  • Management of content on internal collaboration rooms

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree
  • High ambition, drive for and focus on results and execution
  • Excellent soft skills, communication and networking skills
  • Comprehensive office application skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • High-level of flexibility, integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to work with external stakeholders and colleagues on all hierarchy levels
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, German is a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • First experience with public policy and/or Government Relations is a plus
  • Team-work experience – working in virtual and international environments
