United Nations Regional Information Centre seeks Communications Intern
The United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC) in Brussels is hiring
two native Dutch speaking interns
The interns will start working from the 23d of January 2017 or the beginning of March 2017, depending on availability of candidates. The selected candidate is expected to work at the UNRIC office in Brussels for approximately four to six months.
Job description and possibilities:
As a member of a small, international and divers team the intern will have the opportunity to get to know the workings of the United Nations during the internship, as well as establish contacts with UN employees on all levels. The intern will analyse Dutch media (Belgium and the Netherlands) on a daily basis, publish information and articles relating to the UN, take care of the information outreach on social media and collaborate on different UN campaign.
Profile of the candidate:
Interested candidates have an academic background in journalism, communication, media, languages, international relations, or political sciences, preferably on master level. They also have an excellent command of English.
- strong communicative, editorial, artistic audio-visual and journalistic capacities
- An excellent command of English and Dutch, and a working knowledge of French.
- Able to work autonomously and take initiative
- A basic knowledge of the workings of the United Nations is essential
- Able to work in Brussels for four to six months starting February/March
- Team player with an open mind
