Political Advisor in Economic Affairs (m/w/d)

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Represent the views of the international crypto asset community and ensure that EU policy and standards support innovation in this space;
  • Coordinate the organisation’s engagement with MEPs on a wide range of legislative matters related to digital currencies, and develop strong relationships with policymakers, policy advisers and stakeholders across all European Institutions;
  • Keep on top of developments and maintain a vibrant network in the sphere of digital rights and industry;
  • Be DCGG’s representative in meetings with stakeholders, in coordination meetings with politicians, policymakers and legislators and potential members of DCGG;
  • Coordinate and lead the work of DCGG’s office and our collaboration with outside partners;

Competences, qualifications or experience

  • Significant previous experience in the affairs of the ECON committee of the European Parliament is mandatory;
  • Very strong analytical and policy skills, with expertise in European digital policy;
  • Ability to analyze and understand the policy implications of EU institutions and legislative proposals;
  • Understanding of the mechanics of policy and legislative work in the European Parliament and political groups within the parliament;
  • Substantial knowledge of EU law, policymaking and procedures especially in the European internal market field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including tact and diplomacy, in dealing with a wide range of individuals and building good networks of contacts.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent personal organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Sociable and at ease in a multicultural environment;
  • Fluency and knowledge of English is mandatory;
  • Fluency and knowledge of EU languages is a considerable advantage.
